The Lane Raglan was actually one of my first PDF patterns that I bought but I never made it! I don’t know why I held off making it for almost a year but now I want to make a million of them! I actually put the Lane Raglan on my #2017MakeNine to try to motivate myself and maybe that it’s almost the halfway mark was my motivation?

The Lane Raglan is a a raglan sleeve top (duh…) with fitted sleeves and shaping throughout the bodice. It comes will about a million different options –

  • Sleeve Options – Elbow, 3/4 length, long or long sleeves with a banded cuff
  • Hem – curved or handed hem
  • Optional pocket and thumb hole wristbands
  • FBA bodice pattern piece

This is hands down my favorite part about Hey June patterns. I’ve made the Union Street Tee and Charleston Dress and love that you can do a million different things with them!

I used a bamboo knit from Harts Fabric. It’s a really drapey but stable knit that feels similar to a modal knit. It worked perfectly for this top!

When I saw most of the Lane Raglans on Instagram, most of them were two colors which I liked but was a more casual t-shirt than I was looking for. I thought a black tee would be a good addition to my wardrobe.

So here are the usual stats:

Size Chosen: I sewed up the small which has measurements of high bust 33.5, hip 36.5  and my measurements are 34, 39. I made probably a size smaller than I should have but I prefer the more fitted tee. It was also the same size as my Union Street Tee.

Ease of Construction: It’s a raglan tee so it was a little different than I was used to, but nothing that isn’t too difficult at all, just different! It’s definitely a beginner knits pattern.

The Fit: I really loved this tee – I thought I would like it but not love it – I was wrong. It is amazing and can be as dressy or casual as you like based on the fabric you choose!
