It’s time for another unboxing on the Finch Box – and it’s another amazing one! The Finch Box Instagram account has been teasing the contents of this box all month and as a Rifle Paper Co fan, I couldn’t be more pleased with it.

This is the second month of the Finch Box (you can see my first unboxing here!) and it continued to live up to the hype. Each box (so far) has contained a sewing project + pattern + notions and accessories. I really love how customizable the box is – there is a sewing box, a knitting box and a hybrid (mix of the two) box. I chose the sewing box and both months have included an awesome and quick project. Okay, without further ado, let’s jump in!

Sewing Project: The Finch Travel Kit

This month’s box included a box box called the Finch Travel Kit. The supplies for the kit included 2 fat quarters from the new Menagerie fabric collection from Rifle Paper Co, a zipper, Cotton and Steel thread to match and twill trim. All were included in the box!

I also have been dying to try out the new Cotton and Steel thread. I am always terrible about remembering to get coordinating or matching thread so I loved that it was included.

The instructions were super easy to follow and I even had enough fabric left over to do something else with it. Also, I think it’s worth noting these are some high quality instructions – full color, picture, very detailed instructions.

Notions:

In addition to all the supplies for the project listed above, they also included an adorable pair of pelican scissors and a Rifle Paper Company notebook. Both were adorable additions to the box.

Other Items in the Box:

The box always includes a note from the Finch (the owner of Finch) and this month’s was about how making is an act of togetherness. They always include such beautiful messages. There were also some other beautiful cards that had some other information about ways to buy more materials and ways to share on social media.

Overall Thoughts on the Box:

This box is just so thoughtfully put together. Everything about it – from the beautiful instructions on the project, to the way that everything goes together, to the messages included in the notes in the box. It just is a joy to receive every other month. The Finch Box is $25 a month [$50 a box because it’s every other month] (or $145 for 3 boxes [$48.33 per box] or $285 for 6 boxes [$47.50 per box]). I think it is totally worth the money and for me subscription boxes are more about getting some very happy mail every other month. I’ve received a lot of subscription boxes before and this is the most beautiful one I’ve received now 2 months in a row.
