Will wears a ton of rompers – he just can’t seem to do 2 piece outfits – so when searching for a pattern for him I fell in love with this Romper pattern. While Brindille and Twig fabric choices are not totally my style, I tried to see the true features of the pattern, nothing it resembled a lot of his Gap Kids or Polo Ralph Lauren rompers and went for it.\n\n\n\n
The Polo Romper has multiple views – shorts or pants and short or long sleeves – which is perfect for a baby pattern. I also love the size range. It goes from preemie to 6T! Perfect pattern to grow with.\n\n\n\n
I will admit that this pattern was much more “challenging” than I imagined it to be. The collar and placket were tough – I think exacerbated by the fact they’re in miniature form. Also snaps…oof! \n\n\n\n
The main reason why I’ve been hesitant to sew any baby patterns is because of snaps. But, Elisabeth from Stitching and Making recommended the SnapSource snaps and they were much easier than I imagined! I bought the size 15 snaps and the snap setter tool. While it took some practice it was a lot easier than the Drtiz snaps I’ve used before (and used on my Lonetree jacket). \n\n\n\n
I think next time I might try plastic snaps too. These
