Happy 2019! If you missed my announcement on Instagram, 2019 is going to be a year of big change for me – we are building our first house (to be completed in June) and we’re expected a baby boy (also due in June!) Because of all these life changes, I want to be realistic in my 2019 goals.

Each year I set lofty goals – wanting to participate in all the different challenges (because #FOMO!) and I usually fall on my face in terms of execution. My sewing is pretty spontaneous – I sew when I have free time and whatever jumps out at me at the moment. So year long challenges – like the #2019MakeNine or #SewMyStyle usually don’t work that well with my sewing personality. I love following along, but I just know I’m better at jumping in when I want and not putting pressure to participate if I can’t!

Because of all of that, I set a couple goals for myself in 2019 focused on growing my sewing skills, handmade wardrobe and my love of sewing.

The description of this challenge could have been written by me – the goal is to pick 3 garments per season that are seasonally appropriate and sew them up! The Winter seasonal sew 3 technically runs from December – February so I have 2 months instead of 3 to sew up my three pieces. Make sure to swing back later this week to see my three picks.

I am always so inspired by women who sew up adorable clothes for their baby so that when they arrive they can be outfitted in me mades! I want to focus on making an outfit or two a month for our Baby Boy. I love when outfits have matching blankets and hats and being able to sew your own makes that 100% possible!

While I almost always blog my sewing projects, I don’t do a good job of keeping track of lessons learned and such for myself. I started a notebook and want to keep it going in a consistent format throughout the year.

I feel like those three goals are easy, attainable and don’t put pressure on my sewing throughout the year! What are your sewing goals??
