FAQs

How many breweries will I visit?
Currently, tours on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays will visit (3) breweries and tours on Saturdays will try to visit (4). When we visit (3) breweries we try to incorporate an operational tour of at least one of the breweries, as well.

Are the breweries the same for each tour?
No. Due to the different hours of operation for each brewery, the tours will adjust accordingly. But don't worry - all the breweries we visit are unique and delicious. We've taste-tested them all!

How long will the tour last?
Each tour will last approximately three hours.

What does the tour include?
The tour includes transportation to and from your downtown location to 3-4 local breweries on a three-hour tour, 15-20 samples of local beer, bottles of water on the bus, coolers on board to keep your purchased growlers cold,  a Personal Sampling Scorecard to help you keep track of the all the beers you like and the unforgettable experience of drinking with friends on a bright green school bus.

Do I have to be 21 to buy a ticket?
Due to Indiana State Law, persons must be 21 or older to enter the breweries; therefore, you must be 21 to take a tour on Indy Brew Bus. What is the fun of riding if you can't taste the beer, right?

I have a group including 14 people or less, can I rent the bus for a private party?
If you are interested in renting the entire bus for a private party, please purchase all 14 seats on the tour. Please contact info@indybrewbus.com with any questions.

When I go to buy a ticket, it says 'sold out.' What does this mean?
Indeed. We get this question a lot. It means what you think it means, the tour is sold out. Please find another date, we would love to have you on board!

Will I receive actual tickets? Do I need to print my confirmation?
You will receive a confirmation email when your payment is received. You will not receive actual tickets. Please either print your confirmation email or have it handy on your smart phone when you board the bus.

Can I select a pick up location outside of Downtown Indianapolis?
We want to ensure you spend the maximum amount of time at each brewery. Due to limits on time and resources, we do not offer pick ups and drop offs from locations outside the Downtown Indianapolis area. You may choose a hotel, restaurant, bar or other location for pick up, within the map provided on each tour date page.

The hotel pick-up map is too small. Is there an enlarged version?
Yes! Here it is: http://visitindy.com/web_files/map/DTHotelMap_c031510.pdf

If I buy a growler, can I bring it on the bus?
Yes! We will have coolers available for you on the bus to keep your growlers ice cold and cups for you to use.

Can I bring my empty growler from home to refill?
Absolutely- we encourage it!

What is this growler you speak of?
A growler is a glass jug that typically carries a half-gallon of fresh beer. Growlers are filled straight from the tap and sealed with a twist-cap. Once you purchase your initial glass growler, refills cost significantly less. Most breweries will fill growlers from other establishments; however, they may place a sticker from the brewery on the glass. Most breweries offer a smaller container, called a bullet, as well. Beer typically stays fresh one week after the fill date.

Can I bring my own alcohol on board?
The only alcohol that is permitted on the bus is beer purchased at the breweries.

What is the food situation?
You are welcome to bring your own snacks on board. Most breweries are paired with a local restaurant that you can order food from and eat at the brewery. Also, often there are a number of food trucks parked around the breweries.

Is there water available on the bus?
Yes, bottled water is avaialble and is included in the tour price.

Do you accept walk-ups, or do you have to reserve a ticket online?
Yes! Although walk-ups must pay in cash and must have exact change. At this time, Indy Brew Bus does not accept credit cards for walk-ups. However, it is something we are working on!

Is your site secured for payment?
All ticket purchases go through PayPal which is a secure site. You can either pay using your PayPal account, or once you're on that page you have the option to use your credit or debit card instead.

I don't have a PayPal account, can I pay another way?

Underneath the sign in area it will say "Don't have a PayPal account? Pay with your debit or credit card as a PayPal guest." Click here to see an example
